The Woodland Trust is calling for the public to respond to a Public Consultation by DEFRA on a scheme whereby a developer pays for damage to the environment endorsed by the planning system.
It could be a good thing, but the Woodland Trust is concerned that, if done badly, it will give developers a license to trash the environment.
