There seems to be a lot more dog poop on the streets locally, and its not difficult to clean it up. The law has changed too: As part of the new Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act passed last year, dog owners caught without a poop scooping bag could be fined £100. Daventry in Northamptonshire are the first Council to bring in the new measures, which will be enforced by dog wardens or other council enforcement officials.

It is a shame that these kinds of fines have to be introduced. Responsible dog ownership should be standard among the residents of BGNB.

I agree. It seems the grass verges have become quite a 'dumping' ground. I must say too, that I do see people cleaning up after their pets, or perhaps that's only while I'm looking. Shame to feel so cynical...

I received an email today from a resident complaining about the poo left in Westlake Park.
It's just as bad in Page Woods. In December when we took a Veolia Trustee around there was a great big plop right in front of the gate which was very difficult to avoid.
Equally as bad are the people who scoop up into polythene bags and then leave the bags hanging on trees.
Why do people behave in the way they do???
