THANKS TO THE PEOPLE WHO TURNED OUT ON SATURDAY. SORRY WE HAVE CANCELLED SUNDAY'S LITTER PICK. WE HAVE NOT DONE ANY WORK IN PAGE WOODS AS IT IS SLIPPERY - WE'LL WAIT FOR BETTER WEATHER.
Following the success of last year's litter pick we have organised another one on Saturday 16th April and if there is still litter to be picked or other odd jobs on Sunday 17th April. Starting at 9.30 a.m. on both days. I can't believe we would be out for more than two hours but even if you have just an hour to spare then that would be fine.
You need only come along for an hour or so on either or both days.
Ideally, we intend to clean up Page Woods, Pound Lane (as far as the pavement allows) and the roads running off of Pound Lane.
If manpower allows also London Road around the bus shelters and up to the Gun.
We are starting off and finishing up at the Benbow Club where the urn will be on and coffee and tea will be available.
Basildon Council is supplying gloves, litter picks and orange high visibility jackets.
We have reported the rubbish dumping in London Road at the entrance of Church Road; Church Road lay-by; entrance to gateway in Burnt Mills Road; and on the grass verge in Courtald Road.
We do hope you can come along.
Rose
