How fast is your broadband speed? The majority of broadband comnnections in the Parish are slow and need improvement. You can lobby Essex County Council for improvement by clicking the link below. www.superfastessex.orgHowever, part of your problem may be remedied by just re-siting your computer equipment. I had an consultant come round to my house who moved the wanadoo box from behind the wide screen TV and made a few other changes and we have no major problems now ;D

Super fast Essex site says that fibre broadband has been deployed to SS13 2HN. BT Openreach have the contract to deploy the fibre broadband in this area. However, the BT Openreach site says that the North Benfleet exchange is 'under review'.
BT's FAQ: "A cabinet may be under review for a number of reasons, including local planning issues, (we still need planning permission in a number of scenarios, or planning due to safety reasons), problems with our underground network or issues with the supply of a suitable power source. Due to these reasons and the length of time it takes to resolve such problems, we are unable to give likely dates when the cabinet will be able to accept orders."
Efficient movie-streaming, online-gaming and improved download/upload speeds are things that appeal to most people these days (we rely on computing so much now in our everyday lives).........but there doesn't seem to be a timing plan! I have replied to the 'local improvements' survey on the Parish Council Website, and will see how else I can lobby for support.

There is a "Countywide Superfast Essex Parish Engagement Event" tomorrow - Wednesday 18th March 2015, 10am to 12pm, @ Essex Record Office, Wharf Road, Chelmsford, Essex, CM2 6YT. I found this linked from Twitter user @superfastessex. It's an event for Parish Councillors and/or nominated representatives. Are any of our Parish Councillors going to attend?
