Nottingham Council has put forward 10 "very special reasons" as Grounds for Appeal against Basildon Council's refusal to build on our greenbelt In brief these are: 1. The site will make an important contribution to the Council's 5 year housing supply etc. 2. The site is well contained by built development and landscape features. The perception of loss of openness will be limited 3. The proposals are high quality design, integrating well with BG&NB 4. The scheme will make an important contribution to the employment needs of the Thames Gateway 5. The provision of a doctor's surgery where there is currently no provision 6. A Village Centre where there is currently a lack of community facilities 7. The provision of a primary school 8. The potential catalyst for the regeneration of the plotlands 9. Significant new areas of public open space 10. The maintenance and enhancement of the ecological wealth and diversity of the area The Residents Association will be responding by the deadline of 22nd November 2013. If you believe that you have any contradictory comments to make that we could add to the response then please email secretary@bowersgifford.info Please note that the potential date for the Appeal hearing is likely to be 24th February 2014
